New place, new style at Octogon, in a hundred-year old building in the UNESCO World Heritage area of Budapest; just walking distance from most of the main sights and cultural venues.
We have created a relaxing and inspiring atmosphere for those who want to discover the city by becoming a part of it. Leave the old clishes about Hungary behind and be informed by our local experts who are always ready to answer your questions, to give you a hand in planning your stay and to show you the secrets of the city.
As our team is also working in different art fields (dance, theatre, music, visual arts) we are up-to-date about local events and cultural programmes. And you can meet the artists as well!
Furthermore if you have any special interest, just let us know by e-mail in advance so that we can be more prepared by the time you arrive.
Our nice and comfortable private rooms are ideal if you travel alone, with you partner or with your best friend(s).
The hostel is like a peaceful island in the heart of the busy city, so don't expect party here.
But going out could never be a difficulty as there are plenty of restaurants, bars, cafés and music clubs in our neighborhood, the city's biggest Art Movie theatre, the Opera House and Music Academy is within a 2 minute walking distance and other performance venues are also easy to reach. We can also arrange the ticketing for you.
We provide you FREE morning coffee and FREE Internet access.
Most facilities - cash machine, night & day supermarket, grocery, pharmacy, post office - are only within a 100m distance. Night & day public .transport service is within 1 minute on foot.
English, French and Italian is spoken.

Money Exchange:
The airport and stations give the worst exchange rates. Just change the minimum amount of Forint that you might need to get to the hostel. Or use the ATM machines.
Public Transportation:
Always validate your ticket on the vehicle. Controllers are haunting for tourists.
Taxi: In case the price is not fixed, ask the driver about the price before you sit in. From the train stations it is maximum 2.500 Forint. (CityTaxi Co. is quite reliable)
From Feruhegy Airport:
Depending on the Terminal (1 or 2) you arrival there are several choices:
Airport Shuttle Bus you can order at the Minibus Desk on Arrival. Price 2.990 Forint/person. You can buy a return ticket for 4.990 Forint/person. (4.490 Ft/2 person, 8.490 Ft/2 person retour).
The bus brings you to the hostel.
Public Transportation:
Take the Airport (blue) bus in front of the Terminal which takes you to Kõbánya-Kispest metro station.
Here take the blue metro line to Deák tér, change for the yellow line to 'Oktogon'. We are 1 minute from the station.
You have to buy 3 single tickets from the ticket vending machine at the airport bus stop. (270 Ft/ticket) You have to validate one ticket/ride.
Zone Taxi is the official taxi company of the airport. Fix price to our district: 5.100 Ft/car. Credit card is accepted.
If you arrive to Ferihegy Terminal 1., the cheapest is to take the train to Nyugati Station. We are some minute walk from the station. Price: 300 Ft
From Keleti Railway Station:
Take the bus no. 7 or 78 to Blaha Lujza tér, then the tram no.4 or no.6 to Oktogon. We are 1 block from the stop.
You have to buy 2 single tickets from the ticket vending machine, box office or tabacs at the railway station. (270 Ft/ticket) You have to validate one ticket/ride.
From Deli Railway Station:
Take the red metro line to Deák tér, then change for the yellow metro line to 'Oktogon'. We are 1 block from the station.

From Nyugati Railway tation:
Public transportation: Take the tram no.4 or no.6 to 'Oktogon' (1 stop). We are 1 block from the stop.

Or you can also walk down to Aradi st. (3 minutes).
From Nepliget Bus Station:
Take the blue metro to Nyugati pályaudvar. Take tram No. 4 or 6 to 'Oktogon' (1 stop) or walk to Oktogon (3 minutes). We are 1 block from Oktogon.
You have to buy 2 single tickets from the ticket vending machine, box office or tabacs at the railway station. (270 Ft/ticket) You have to validate one ticket/ride.

REGRAS de CANCELAMENTO
If you need to cancel a reservation, please note that:
a) for any 72+ hours advance notice: it does NOT provide any cancellation fee. Nonetheless, deposit and booking fee are no-refundable.
b) for any 72- hours advance notice or in case of a No-Show: if not otherwise reported by the establishment, the customer will be charged a cancellation fee corresponding to the price of the first night per person.
Both customer and establishment will receive an automated notification of the cancellation via e-mail. In every case, deposit and booking fee are no-refundable.
